hey.. here's a nice place to eat authentic chinese food. My mum treated my family to Noble House situated at UIC building. Ate mouth-watering food like peking duck, prawns with scallop, nice nice mango with pamelo pudding, dofu covered with mushrooms and scallop.... nice food... had a great meal! Hope I wont put on weight for that.

Sophie's Birthday party is coming soon. Friday! Hooray! But I have not found my t-shirt.. gosh!! haha... Can't wait!

Stressed!
Friday, March 24, 2006

I have so many project deadlines all cramped up within such a short period of time. A video, a website, quantitative research report, speech and presentation group project.. Ah... !! Guess what? My friend and I did project from 2p.m.- 11p.m. Almost died! My body taking the toll. So as per normal, rashes break out when I do not take my medication. Getting really frustrated with the whole thing.

Well, but at least I learnt something. I can make my own website and do filming. Woohoo! This is great. At least I have learnt a skill. I think my course has taught me a lot of practical skills that would be useful when I enter the working world although the learniing process can be terrible! haha.. imagine a computer idiot making a website and filming.. wahaha...

Exams are pressing near... Gosh.. No time to study!!

Clubbing
Friday, March 17, 2006

Well, I finally made my virgin visit to a club. Haha, but I didnt go there for fun. I went there to do filming for my project on youth culture. Wow, it was really an eye opener for me. But somehow it made me wonder why so many people are so addicted to clubbing because I personally do not see anything appealing about it. Reasons why I dislike it:

Firstly, the place was so smokey that I thought I will die earlier due to the inhalation of the 2nd hand smoke. Almost everyone around me were puffing away and I was totally turned off.

Secondly, the music was blasting so loudly that the ground trembled. I hate loud music! Gosh! Imagine how tortured I was.

Thirdly, this stupid man was trying to take advantage of me. As I was doing my filming in the club itself, he kept inching closer and closer to me. Does he think that I am stupid or what? And worse still, as he got closer, the smoke from his cigarette got stinkier! So pissed off!

As you can see, I do not exactly like clubbing. To me, it's a simple waste of time. Let me derive some reasons why people club.

1. IT IS AN ESCAPE FROM REALITY.
When you actually submerge yourself in a world that is noisy, dark and crowded, you have the illusion that your world is just all about fun and you can dance and drink to your heart's content. It's a way from escaping from reality, away from the stress and buzz of the city's demand.

2. PEER PRESSURE
All you friends club, so you do it too! That's the fact. Youths, in order to feel included in a group have to succumb to peer pressure to be cool and funky. You must club to be cool. This may seem nonsensical to most of us but it's the truth. Wanting to feel included will often make it hard to reject a friend's offer to club.

The list goes on.... Sad to say, many of the parents of these youths do not even know that their children are puffing and clubbing away. It is not wrong to club but if it becomes a habit, it can be worrying. I am sure time can be diverted to better use than just trying to escape.

One weird morning...
Monday, March 13, 2006

The story begins as I entered NTU in my uncle's car. As we turned in from Jalan Bahar and towards my hall, I suddenly spotted a herd of wild boars running across the field... let's not exaggerate.. about 7-8 of them.. but it's still a lot...!! Then, my uncle had to stop the car for them to cross the road... ridiculous rite?... Well, it's better to allow them to cross than provoking them... wahaha... They then ran across the road and into the forested area between Hall 11 and MY HALL (Hall 15)! And that means the wild boars are in NTU!!!!!!!!!!!! My gosh! This is damn crazy.. I doubt I dare go jogging in NTU again! Hmm... the moral of the story is that NTU is indeed ULU. Like how often do you see such wild animals in Singapore. Ah..! NTU's security better ensure my safety by getting rid of these wild boars! Won't be too happy to see them jogging around my campus.... That's all folks!
