Back from Bangkok!

This trip was an extremely *DRAMA* one.

Day 1 (24 June)
The flight which was supposed to take off at 9.20 am took of at 11.30. That equals to 2 hours of flight delay! Wah... Waste my time only.
Finally, we reached Baiyoke Sky and we were lucky to get the superior sweet. The room is huge and the toilet is so big that I think I can dance in it.. haha...
Then, we wanted to take a taxi down to Siam Paragon but we were so unlucky to meet a taxi driver who was so irritating. He refused to turn on the meter and insisted that we pay 100 baht! And he suddenly stopped the cab and told us to get off. I was so pissed of! So since we thought that our luck with public transport wasnt too good, we decided to take the free shuttle service from the hotel to get to the nearest Skytrain. And guess what? The shuttle service came late! Really waste my time!
But anyway, managed to reach Siam paragon and did peticure and manicure. Wah! It only cost us 600 baht (S$25)! And it included scrub and massage! Heavenly... !
At least I ended the day with a good note.. I have a set of beautiful toes and nails!

Day 2
Had my breakfast at the hotel before heading for four-faced Buddha. Then, went for thai massage... it was shiok!
Lunch was at Grand Hyatt cos they serve beautiful Tom yam soup!
Then, it was more shopping at Platinuim which is a wholesale shopping centre. Everything is sold in bulk so the more u buy, the cheaper it is.
Headed for Chinatown and met yet another irritating taxi driver! He insisted that we pay him 100 baht and cos we insisted on paying only the meter fare, he blasted the music into our ears! So sickening.
And dinner was the yummy yummy delicious chicken wings from a roadside stall that we have never failed to patronise each time we visit Bangkok. I think he serves the best chicken wings ever!
So after that it was lazing in the hotel room and watching World cup. England vs. Ecuador!

Day 3
Went MBK for more shopping before heading for the airport.

Well, on a whole it was an enjoyable trip except for some irritating people. It's the company that is the most important.

Class outing
Friday, June 16, 2006

Happy 17th Birthday to my brother, Ivan.

Congrats Jeremy for passing your driving test.

It's my class outing (16th June) with the record number of ppl who turned up. I can simply count within my 10 fingers. Only 6 of us turned up. Ben, Jeremy, Terence, Ee bing, Bridgitte and I. We ate at Kenny Rogers and the food is expensive and not nice. Ah! But anyway, we did have a nice time chatting and doing crappy things. Hopfully the next class outing will have more ppl.

Outing with Sheena

Sheena and I
Mango sticky rice

Went out with my darling Nana today to Great World city and ate at Siam Kitchen. The food was just so so lah. But we did have a nice chat. It's always nice to meet up with friends to keep each other updated on each other's life. Distance should never be an excuse to drift apart. Do not place too much expectations on your friends cause that will only strain friendship. Maintaing friendship is about being accomodating and understanding to each other's needs. Hahaha... I shall not go on on my philosophy on friendship. Happy day to all my friends! Sheena, we shall meet when u get back from HK yeah...

ACID Camp 2006

ACID t-shirt- BACK (rainbow of my heart)
My ACID group- Purple team
Purple Band

Back from ACID camp! ACID (Annual camp for the intellectually disabled) was real fun but tiring. ACID camp is held every year and this is one camp that brings together trainees from all the MINDs. This is also a chance for the family members to have a break and for volunteers to learn more about their trainees.

My feet are sore and painful... hahaha... And it was fun being the GL for the purple team. We won the 2nd prize too... hooray! My ACID group was fun! Love the part that we stood in the cirle and sung together as a team on the 3rd day. However, there was this trainee in my group that freak me out. He kept calling me and haunting me! Keeps calling me "Ms Chiok" throughout the whole camp. And he is creepy! He always appear behind me silently. Yucks! Luckily, I got the male volunteers to help me.

Well, it's the most fufilling camp I've taken part so far. One which I feel that volunteerism is the crux of why there is such a camp in the first place. So many people have come together to organise and put up this camp for the less fortunate of our society. It was sheer amount of work put it. From station games, sandcastle building to simple logistic matters like food and equipment, everything had to be planned for.

My favourite part of the camp was the campfire. Though the campfire was fake... hahaha... but it was memorable. Everyone was joyfully singing and dancing. The trainees enjoyed themselves tremendously and so did the volunteers. The chicken little dance led by Benny was the funniest of all. Imagine few hundred people dancing to the chicken little dance. hahaha... It was hilarious!

In fact, I've moved one step further in understanding our trainees through this 3 days 2 nights camp with them. Without participating in this camp, I wouldnt have known so much about them. I wouldnt know that Kenny really cannot see at night. Mandy shivers whenever she sees steps. Mui lian and En kuan do not sleep at camps and that means that their volunteers cannot sleep too. Sherra laughs because she cant sleep at night. Sharon is often highly emotional and can be moved to tears easily.

There is so much that I've taken away from this camp and I would do it again if I am given the chance again. Awaiting for ACID camp 2007!

060606
Tuesday, June 06, 2006

What a day to remember... it's 06/06/06. Whether it's an auspicious date or not, many couples still chose to tie the knot today. And not forgetting the launch of the movie, "The Omen" which does give some ppl the creeps. The bible states that the number 666 is said to denote the unholy trinity of Satan. Well, I am no expert in this area but this is what I've read.

Well, this is a real joke. My friend (let's not mention name) was talking to me today and she was telling me that her project mate had to look at the ATLAS for directions to travel around Singapore. hahahaha... if u cant tell the joke... she meant street directory!!!

That's all... hahaha... laughed myself to bed last night.

A sleepless night
Monday, June 05, 2006

It's 1.57a.m but I am still wide awake. My mind is filled with a zillion tonnes of things but I do not seem to be able to draw a single one out. My mind is in a whirl, a complete disorganised and confused mode. I dunno what is happening but I am depressed. Perhaps, cause I can feel that those disgusting rashes are making a comeback after sparing me for almost a month. They are making both my thighs feel itchy and uncomfortable and the worse thing, the burning sensation on my face is dreadful.

Had to miss session this week again cos my mum says I shld stay home and allow my body to fully recover and I was so bored at home that I really felt like crying. Boredom can kill. I can sense that my parents arent really supportive of the volunteer work that I am doing. I dont think its a feeling, i think it is more of a fact. Well, they prefer me to stay home but come on, we do nothing on Saturday... so what's the point. I dont get it. So when my mum gave the wonderful proposal that I not go for session this Saturday, I said, "I think you really hate my CCA right?" And her reply, "No, it's just that I think u look very tired after your CCA." Hahaha... i really dunno lah. It's just that I feel extremely weird not going for session. Maybe cos it has become almost like a routine to me.

Two more weeks to special term and I am kind of excited though. Not that I like studying, but I am simply too bored already. 9th-11th June is ACID camp! I hope it'll be fun.

All right, it's 2.00a.m now.
